Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat has graduated from Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department at Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey, with a B.S. degree in 2002 and with an M.S. degree in 2004. Dr. Polat completed the Ph.D. degree in the same university in 2008 and completed the postdoctoral degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston in the years 2015-2016. In the postdoctoral work, Polat designed mathematical modeling of memory performance by designing various experiments on visual memory. Dr. Polat has been working as an Associate Professor Dr. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Abant Izzet Baysal University, Bolu, Turkey, since September 2011 and is Member of editorial board of Journal of Neural Computing and Applications (SCI expanded) and a Member of editorial board of Applied Soft Computing, Elsevier (SCI J). Polat has 88 articles published in the SCI journals and 30 international conference papers. Dr. Polat’s current research interests are biomedical signal classification, statistical signal processing, visual memory, neuroscience, brain-computer interface, PPG signal, medical electronics, digital signal processing, pattern recognition, and classification. He is the editorial board member of Applied Soft Computing at Elsevier (SCI journal).
